family updates
Daughter Caitlin is getting her tan while cross country skiing on Lake Hyalite in Bozeman, Mt. Note the beautiful blue sky. Perfect conditions, and no avalanche danger! Ike also had a good time.
Granddaughter Emily watched the last sunset of 2009 in Long Beach. She is now back at school in Ojai for the Spring semester. Note the eyelashes. Wouldn't you kill for batters that that?
Grandson Andrew arrived back in the USA yesterday evening after 8 months in Asia and Europe. It's good to have him back in this hemisphere. He returns to Claremont McKenna at the end of January for the second half of his junior year. Before that he goes into training for Lacrosse. His first dietary request: In-n-Out Burger. The kid's got class. Welcome home, Andrew. His mother is not shown in this post; she's in a swoon of happiness at having her boy home!
As for us here in Cuyutlán, interesting weather ~ about 24 hours of drizzles over last weekend; drove the day-trippers home so things got real quiet after a New Year's surge. I've been reading most of the time; two Sheldon Siegel's (one would have been enough). About to start The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. It's going to have to go a long way to outdo The Elegance of the Hedgehog. Neighbor and Ms. Neighbor Nelson arrived yesterday evening for a couple of months. Now the fun will start in earnest.
